Should I join the RV life?

Hi, I am 24 years old and am a journeyman electrician doing rope access work up in the Canadian oil field. I work a 2 week on 2 week off shift and make about 7000$ on my 2 weeks.

Is it easy to find safe places to leave a travel trailer and truck for a few weeks while I am away at work?

Is it worth it to buy an expensive trailer to start out with or should I go with a smaller more basic approach?

What is it like to live in one for the winter?

Darin,
Here are my thoughts on your questions, though ultimately you're the only one who can answer them. Perhaps some other visitors will chime in with suggestions as well.

Safe places: I'm sure there are some - you'll need to check out what might be available wherever you're thinking of leaving it. I'd pick an RV park of some sort, not just a parking lot somewhere.

What to buy: Depends on how much you want to spend. Decide how you are apt to use it and go from there.

Winter in an RV: I wouldn't want to try that - don't think they are very well insulated. Winter in southern AZ might be fine, but MN - forget it.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Susan
