Gypsy Dreams of an RVing Life
I have always been quite the "gypsy". I love to go. After about a year in one place, I want to get moving so bad I can hardly stand it. I'm not running from anything...I just love the adventure and discovering new places, people, and things. I have lived over 36 different places and I have no desire to settle down or own a home yet (I'm 46). I have lived in Japan and all over the U.S., but there is still so much more to see!
Just over 7 yrs ago, I met my husband and we married. He had a good steady job and so we stayed in FL for 7 yrs and recently moved to the Nashville area. I have been talking to him about doing the RV living for all that time, but he wasn't too keen on the idea. It just about drove me mad to stay in FL for all that time, but I promised him I would if he promised we could leave once his youngest daughter had graduated high school. We both kept that promise.
The hands of fate seem to be pushing me to get back into my travels. I'm not sure what I will do for a living and that is a little concerning, but more so for my husband. Maybe an Internet based business, but what? I have never liked to accumulate "things". It feels very burdensome to me to have more than I can fit in my car. Even my dog, a Welsh corgi, is compact! I talked to my hubby today (again) about doing this and he finally seems very receptive to the idea now that our situation is different.
We have 1 1/2 yrs left on a leased home we are renting. That should give me enough time to save up some money. I feel so energized and excited about working toward doing this. I know I can make this work and I am so very looking forward to it. I have a goal set before me and it's the open road.
Thanks so much for your message! I wish the two of you lots of luck - I know you'll have lots of adventures. If you can come up with a good internet based business, that will give you the most freedom. Otherwise, Workamper is the best place to check - you can volunteer for free space & hookups or work full time if you need extra cash. And, who doesn't?
Thanks again. Susan
