What about towing a leased vehicle?

If I lease a car with a manual transmission and a transfer case disconnect mechanism so that the odometer does not increment while the vehicle is being towed flat on the ground with all four wheels wouldn't that be a great way to go? You would have low mileage like the lease requires if you only used the vehicle for local errands, etc. and the mileage for longer distance trips while being towed would not be counted. Is this in any way a violation of lease agreements?

When I towed my std. transmission Corolla, I just turned the key to Acc, and put it in neutral - it didn't record any mileage while being towed. I don't know if all std. transmission vehicles work the same way. As far as possibly violating the lease agreement - read it very carefully or, even better, get a lawyer to look at it. Susan
